Adult Care
More and more adult children find themselves as the primary caregivers for their aging parents. It is estimated that today’s family members are responsible for 80% of the elder care provided in the United States. As the population ages, more faculty and staff will find a need for assistance when dealing with elder care issues.
Navigating the types of services and programs available can be daunting, especially if the adult child is trying to arrange elder care in another city. The vast majority of aging Americans want to age in place by being in their own homes or at least in their own communities. Providing services that will support these decisions can be challenging for families and for communities.
The Vanderbilt Family Center offers information concerning various elder care options. Please call 936-1990 or submit the on-line Information Request Form to learn more about services available in the middle Tennessee area.
